Ghosted
Publication Concept Design
Ghosted is a school project that earned the 2021 GDUSA Student Award, featuring my photography, graphics, branding, and layouts to document Oklahoma's ghost towns, capturing their eerie beauty while inspiring readers to embark on adventures.
Project Overview
Ghosted is a visually compelling publication that explores the forgotten ghost towns of Oklahoma. Designed as a school project, the magazine blends original photography, graphic design, and branding to evoke a sense of mystery and adventure. With an emphasis on capturing the eerie beauty of these abandoned places, the project also includes curated road trip playlists and podcast recommendations to inspire exploration.
Challenges
A major challenge in creating Ghosted was driving to all the ghost town locations myself to gather information and capture original photography. Navigating remote areas with limited resources and unpredictable conditions added complexity to the project. This hands-on approach, while demanding, was essential to authentically document the eerie beauty and historical significance of each site, ensuring the visuals and narrative felt genuine and immersive.
